It’s daylily season! Such joyful flowers, every day renewed.
I’ve been working on my biggest mixed-media piece ever, a new addition to my Infinity Heart series. I usually don’t post art here on my blog until it’s finished, but you can find some in-progress pics over at my Facebook page — click on the link at the top of my sidebar —->
I started this piece over a year ago, then let it sit for months. A recent inspirational boost by talented mixed-media artist Seth Apter has really helped it to take flight! I’ve combined my altered books with paper mache, and my digital art with collage, to create something entirely fresh and new. Check it out!
Artists often create from travel photos. We like to imagine ourselves far, far away.
My recent travel photo inspiration comes from right around my neighborhood.
A new series began to reveal itself when I noticed my photos trending towards the color pink.
Since completing my Heart Labyrinth series, I’ve been feeling a void, wondering what to do next.
I finally sense new art being born, hiding right under my nose, in all this pink.
I did more sketches today with my digital pen, using a big book of Japanese prints as a reference.
The background color comes from a piece of antique furniture. It was such a pretty shade of lavender, I couldn’t resist taking a photo to sample it. These four pieces use different parts of that same photo.
It is a sunny day, but my art is coming out in blue, ranging from serene to tempestuous.
