Christmas Doodle

Happy Holidays! I’ve been playing with my new Wacom tablet, having fun doodling. I’m not sure how over a month has gone by since my last blog post, but these things happen. I received a good supply of coffee and chocolate today to see me into the new year, plus I’m looking forward to a fresh start with some new art.

My Bluejean Baby debuts tonight, with Sweet Chocolate Dream

I am showing three art pieces for the first time at the Art Forum at DuPre’s Antique Market tonight. I found a lovely frame to hang my new Glover Park Fountain drawing. I also pulled out two older illustrated poems that go well with this summer weather.

My Bluejean Baby is a character I created over 2o years ago. This particular figure drawing done in 2008 inspired me to write about her again.

Sweet Chocolate Dream is a poem I wrote in 2007. At the time, I enjoyed combining crayons with watercolors. I illustrated several poems this way, and ran my first ever set of limited edition prints. The print framed in the gallery right now is signed and numbered 2 of 3.

Dipped in Chocolate: Even Yummier

DippedInChocolate-Brwn

Something was bothering me about my post yesterday. The background was supposed to be brown, like chocolate. But the more I looked at it, the more I realized it was maroon, not brown at all. I think I like it better now. What do you think?

After nearly two months, I finally hooked my scanner back up. This is from a sketch I did in December. I had to use the thinner side of my Staedtler Mars brush pen, because the thicker brush side was running dry. The lines are a bit too delicate for my taste, but it feels so good to work in Photoshop again!
